If you are Desi then you will always crave for chatpata food, full of flavours and variety for options and affordable price. As the year is ending and New year is approaching and being a festive season I splurged a lot. Well Meena Baazar is famous for all the Indian Clothes at very good price. After making a whole in my pocket I wanted to be light on food but no compromise on flavours. The only name came in my mind is Bombay Times.

Bombay Times is the Desi quick bite restaurant. It have wide variety of chatpata chaat and different chaats which I have never heard of before. The place is crowded and service is very prompt. They have standing tables outside and only three tables inside to seat (it is really small but very clean) it is always full.

What We Tried There:
  • The Famous Bombay JINI Dosa
  • Tawa Cheese Pav Bhaaji
  • Chatpata Sev Puri Grilled Cheese Sandwich
  • Kesar Lassi
We started with #MustHave Tawa cheese Pav Bhaaji. Generous amount of bhaaji was served with two Pav. Bhaaji had amazing lip smacking flavours and pav was soft and buttery. This is a most common dish on streets of Mumbai which you must try out in Bombay Times.
Tawa Cheese Pav Bhaji
Well I have tried so many Dosa's in my life but only thing I liked was the Sambhar but they make it different, it is JINI Dosa. Dosa is stuffed with mixture of potato, topped with lots of cheese and served with chutneys. I was amazed and it was my first time that I loved it. You #MustTry this dosa if you haven't yet.
JINI Dosa
Lastly we tried there Chatpata Sev Puri Grilled Cheese Sandwich, it had yummy layers in between with the sev puri stuffing. The sandwich was huge and can be shared with two (because I couldn't finish it up).
Chatpata Sev Puri Grilled Sandwich
For drinks we tried the basic Kesar Lassi which is simple and sweet.
Kesar Lassi
Now I know where to stop by when I miss the street chaat.

Would I Recommend you this Place? BIG YES!!! They have everything in chats and other of their custom dishes. I'm definitely going back to have their Chinese bhel. Quantity and quality is amazing.

Qamha is the new restaurant which serves delicious arabic food. They have manakeesh, fatayer which are based on homemade recipe. The restaurant have beautiful view of park and having your brunch in this cold weather is absolute fantastic.

Restaurant have very elegant and girly interior. The seating arrangement is limited inside as well as outside. The staff is very active and attentive, service was fast.

What We Tried There:
  • Manakeesh Zaatar and Cheese
  • Hamiskan Roll
  • Chicken Grill Sandwich
  • Lemon and Mint Juice
We started with Lemon and Mint Juice, they didn't have many options to choose. It had exact balance of lemon and mint. It was very refreshing.
Lemon and Mint Juice
As suggested by staff we chose Zaatar and Cheese Manakeesh. It is a triangular shaped dough stuffed with zaatar and cheese. I loved the cheese manakeesh as zaatar was very drying.
Manakeesh

Chicken Grill Sandwich is very basic nothing different. It was delicious but I expect the roll to be little big for the price point of view.
Chicken Grill Sandwich
Lastly we chose Hamiskan Roll, it is similar to chicken sandwich but I loved this more and #HighlyRecommend to try it out. It was good in size and was served with garlic mayo.

Wednesday, December 13, 2017 1 Comments A+ a-

Dubai mall is very huge and you will get tired, from shopping to restaurants you have so many options to choose from. It was afternoon and I wanted a nice view, finally we chose Al Hallab, they serve authentic Lebanese food. I have been wanting to try out this place from the longest time and it had great top view of waterfall and Burj Khalifa. We chose to sit inside near water fall because it was sunny.

Al Hallab was jam packed and we had to wait for about 10 mins because we wanted to sit near waterfall. The interiors are gold and is very spacious, it have royal feel. The staff is very quick and attentive even though they were busy because it was peak time.

What We Tried There:
  • Hommous
  • Full Mixed Grill
  • Kofta Balls with Pomegranate
  • Mango Fresh Juice
  • Cocktail Layers
  • Kounafa Cheese
We started with our #favorite Hommous, it is chickpeas blended with Tahina and olive oil. They served Arabic bread along with it. I could it only this for whole day.

Hommous
I love their Lebanese grills, we chose Full Mixed Grill which were served with French fires and Garlic. It is a mixture of kababs, Chicken Kababs, Lamb chops, shish tawouk.
Full Mixed Grill
Next dish I ordered by looking at the picture on the menu it is Kofta Balls with Pomegranate
Kofta balls are made of minced meat which is pan fried and the sauce is made of various spices with main ingredient pomegranate juice. It gave it tantalizing sweet and sour taste. It was delicious and soft kofta was yummy definitely #MustTry.
Kofta Balls with Pomegranate
For juices we chose our #AllTimeFavorite Mango juice which doesn't need anything intro.
Mango Juice
Our second drink was Cocktail Layers which is had three thick layers of different fruit juice. I loved it, it had proper thickness and was fresh.
Cocktail Layers
Dessert is a must, we tried there Kounafa Cheese which was served with arabic bread. It was bit dry but when added sugar syrup it could hold together. Wasn't a big fan of there dessert.

t-Lounge Dilmah - A Hug in Cup

Thursday, December 07, 2017 0 Comments A+ a-

Tea is a important part of our mornings, it starts our day and I personally love my tea to be strong. I have tea only once in a day that is only in mornings and it have to perfect and I'm very particularly choosy about it. I was delighted when I got invitation for tea tasting and pairing it with different food at T-Lounge by Dilmah. It is a most recognized international tea brand and sixth largest tea brand in the world. They have newly opened their first outlet in Dubai.

Lounge is very pretty and cozy seating arrangements. Wall's depict the story of Dilmah and different types of tea embedded in the wall which makes it colorful and beautiful.

I got to try four different type of tea's, each tea had different aroma and flavor. You will get the exact flavor of tea when you pair it rightly with food.

Our first tea was Brilliant Breakfast Tea which is red in color, strong in taste. It was paired with Italian Classic Bruschettas, which is topped with tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and little balsamic vinegar. I loved the combination and also tea because it was strong.

Italian Classic Bruschettas
Our second tea was Moroccan Mint Green Tea which was minty and mild in taste. It was paired with Lamb Kofta Burger, the lamb grilled patty was good in size and also had other variant like hummus, lettuce. I'm neither a fan of mint tea or lamb burger it didn't make any impact on me. If you love mint and mild flavor then this tea is for you.

Lamb Kofta Burger
Our third tea is #MyFavorite Single Estate Darjeeling Tea it had a strong aroma and very strong taste, which perfectly suits my taste. It was paired with Classic Italian Ravioli, which had ricotta, Parmesan cheese and mixed with fresh Tomato sauce. The sweet sour taste of ravioli and strong tea made a good combination together.
Classic Italian Ravioli
Our last tea was Single Estate Oolong Leaf Tea which had mild flavor. It was paired with Pistachio and Ricotta pastry, which was soft and had layers. I loved the combo of both tea and pastry.
Pistachio & Ricotta
We also got to try out special tea which is Seasonal Flush, it is special because it is cultivated at particular climate for 12 days and then only you can get that combination. Depending on the cultivation the amount of tea keeps changing every year. We were served this tea in a wine glass. It had a mild aroma of rose and it slowly got stronger sip by sip.

Seasonal Flush
We also tried another #favorite tea of mine which is Karak Tea, it had nice aroma and great taste the way I like it.
Karak Tea
Had a great experience to taste different tea and the rarest tea, had a great time with other bloggers.

Moombai & Co @ The H Dubai

Wednesday, November 29, 2017 0 Comments A+ a-

The H Hotel has been in talks recently because of the brand new Irani - Parsi restaurant Moombai & Co. I wanted to experience what is the hype all about, I was happy to be invited to such lively fun place.

As soon as we entered, we were escorted to our table. This place completely reminds me about the Mumbai streets because of the movie posters on the walls. They also have antique board of Kingfisher and olden times televisions which had only Doordarshan. Most amazing thing is the Rickshaw which is still most popular in India. They play dholak to celebrate birthday's and make it more especial. They have different seating arrangements indoor as well as outdoor. The music played from yesteryear's will take you back to future.

The staff is very friendly. Especially our server Mukesh, he gave us brief intro and guided us through the menu. That helped us to take decisions and choose from menu. They have a huge variety of alcohol drinks I hope they also increase the Non-Alcoholic drinks because there are only 5 drink without DAARU totally unfair.

What We Tried There:
  • Pao Bhaji
  • Tareli Kolmi
  • Murg Malai Tikka
  • Tandoori Chicken
  • Hari Mirch Ka Jhinga
  • Chicken Berry Biryani
  • Sali Marghi
  • Patra Ni Machhi
  • Sheermal
  • Kachumber Raita with Pomegranate
  • Baked Gulab Jamun
  • Kulfi Falooda
  • Ananas Ka Rus
  • Masala Cola
  • Mango Lassi
While we were deciding, they served us with Aam ka Panna as a welcome drink, crispy Papad and chuttneys.
Aam Ka Panna - Welcom Drink

Pappad & Chuttney's

Starting with small appetite we decided to have famous Pao Bhaji which you can find on route Mumbai to Goa and vice versa as the street food which is easily available and also very tasty.
The quantity of Bhaji was very nice and the soft butter bread would just melt down.

Pao Bhaji

Our second small appetite was Tareli Kolmi which is ginger garlic marinated prawns and then fried.
Prawns were juicy and crispy. If you are prawns lover then this is a #MustTry.

Tareli Kolmi

Barbeque is something that Mumbai is famous for, our first choice was Murg Malai Tikka. It is perfect for people who doesn't like spicy but yet very delicious. The flavor of yogurt and other spices just tantalized the taste buds.

Murg Malai Tikka
Tandoori Chicken is our #AllTimeFavorite, the aroma of spices and burnt charcoal makes it yummy. I loved the chutney and salad served with it.

Tandoori Chicken

Our last barbeque had to be seafood, we chose Hari Mirch Ka Jhinga. It is marinated in green chilly mix with other spices but once it hits the charcoal oven the spiciness is reduced but still you get the hint of chillies.
Hari Mirch Ka Jhinga
All of the barbeques had amazing flavours, each one different from others. I #HighlyRecommend to try any one of it or all three.

For our main course we started with Sali Marghi. It is very simple homemade chicken curry garnished with crispy potato straws. I loved the combination of crispiness with spice curry, I #HighlyReccomend.
Sali Marghi
To accompany the curry rather then having our regular naan or paratha we opted for Sheermal. It have saffron in it which was interesting. It is very small and we thought it won't be enough. But trust me after having one I realized why they made it so small, it is too heavy.

Sheermal
Our second dish was Patra Ni Machhi, it is fish wrapped in a banana leaf with green chutney. It didn't have that spice and was too soft, but it was ok.

Patra Ni Machhi
My most awaited dish was Chicken Berry Biryani, my words won't do justice. It had long grain rice and lots of berries. It was my first experience to have such different biryani. If there is a one thing you need to try is then this. It is #MustTry #MustHave dish. It goes well with Kachumber Raita with Pomegranate.
Chicken Berry Biryani

Kachumber Raita with Pomegranate
For drinks we chose Ananas Ka Rus which is very refreshing and had mix of chaat masala. I liked the chatta patta flavor.
Ananas Ka Rus
Next drink was Masala Cola, our famous coca cola drink is mixed with their masala. It had completely different flavor.

Masala Cola
Lastly our personal favorite drink Mango Lassi, it was thick and very yummy.
Mango Lassi
We barely had any space in our stomach but I had to try their Baked Gulab Jamun. It is served in hot sizzling plate with small gulab jamun with lots of hot rabdi. Gulab Jamun was bit sweet but when mixed it nicely with rabdi it was balanced.
Baked Gulab Jamun
Last dessert was Kulfi Falooda, I loved the thickness and the quantity. It couldn't have been better then this.
Kulfi Falooda
The prices overall is bit high but for the service and quality of food it is totally worth it.
