Eric's Restaurant - Al Karama
Staying far from your home town and not missing it, is impossible. That's the reason I am always on a hunt for delicious Goan food. So this week I went to Eris's Restaurant. What made me go there was the famous Mario's painting wall paint design, it defines Goa.
Eric's Restaurant is situated in bit of interior of Al Karama but was very easy with help of Google maps. Being in interior side there is advantage of getting parking every close to restaurant, I was lucky to find it right in front of the restaurant. We went there early for dinner because it was empty. It had the beautiful art which is replica of Mario's paintings and frames of Goa. The restaurant itself reminds the olden houses which was designed by
Portugal people. The place is very simple no extra effort is done to decorate, they have kept everything basic, rustic with ancient feel to it.
- Fantastic Lolly Pop
- Peppery Prawns
- Bhatti Murgh
- Pan Fried Kingfish
- Chicken Xacuti
- Indian Pav
- Mango lassi
- Strawberry Milkshake
- Chocolate Lava Cake
The huge menu got us confused but the staff is very friendly and good in recommending dishes according to your taste. We ordered lot of starters for only two of us.
Starting with their best selling and #MustHave Fantastic Lolly Pop. This was the first thing our server suggested us instantly. They have converted the simple chicken Lilly pop dish into Indo-Chinese. The sauce had so many different flavors and it is so amazing. You can change the spice level of it if you don't like too much of spice. I am totally going back to just have this again #HighlyRecommend.

It won't be justified if I don't try out the seafood in Goan Restaurant.
Peppery Prawns was served next to us. This is spicy because of the amount of pepper in it. But again you can ask them to change according to your like. The Prawns were big and perfectly seasoned. I love the quantity which they served and also the amount of prawns in it. If you are a crazy fan of seafood (Just Like ME!) then this a
#MustTry.

We wanted to try something from their Grilled In Tandoor section, we were suggested to try out
Bhatti Da Murgh. This dish is not mention in the menu, I believe it could be new addition in their menu. It had great aroma and was nice tender and grilling didn't make it dry. It is a good option to try in tandoor.

They have a page of all Goan Dishes which includes Seafood, Chicken, Beef and Mutton. Without thinking too much I ordered
Pan Fried Kingfish. Kingfish is most easiest fish to eat that's the reason I love it the most. The fish was fried with goan spices and not overly done. The taste was delicious and portion size was also good, you
#MustHave this.

For Main Course we ordered the
Chicken Xacuti with
Indian Bread (
Pav). In Goa especially most of the time we have Pav with Gravy dishes it compliments well together. This is one of the famous dish in Goa which you will find every restaurant in Goa. It had the home made touch to it with great mix of spices.

For drinks we had

For Dessert they had the
Chocolate Lava Cake as the special which is made on that day only. The cake was hot and gooey, having it with ice cream just made it better.

Overall it is a great place to hangout with friends and family. They have huge menu but I mainly tried their Goan items. Don't forget to ask the special dish of the day, I believe they have something in each section different everyday.
