Monday, August 28, 2017 0 Comments A+ a-

Dubai is a city where things can change overnight. There can be a new restaurant, new road or a new car launch in the city which then becomes the talk of the town.

There is a new eatery in city called State 88. They have a new concept of cooking meat which was initiated by two brothers. It is the only restaurant in Dubai and planning to expand further. It has complete new design and fresh environment. They serve one of the best sandwiches that we can trust on completely. Their secret weapon being they smoke their meat in house. Meat is being slow cooked for 12 hours and is served with salads tossed in delightful vinaigrette. The food is very healthy as it is only grilled, roasted, baked and not fried. We were glad to be invited and we had a great experience.

State 88 is located at City Walk with indoor and outdoor seating arrangements. The decor is very rustic and elegant. The staff is very friendly and provides great service. The pricing is easy on pocket.

What We Tried There:
  • Chickita Sandwich
  • Chicken 88
  • Avenue 88
  • Feng Shui
  • Sweet Potato Fries
  • Mixed Cabbage Slaw
  • Nut About You Milkshake
  • Lotus Milkshake
  • Classic Nitro Cold Brew
  • Vanilla Ice cream Cup with Twist

Firstly for drinks we ordered Nut About You Milkshake, it is a mixture of vanilla ice cream with hazelnut crazy paste. It was amazing and had right combinations.

Nut About You Milkshake

And Lotus Milkshake which had lotus ice cream with lotus biscuit crumbs. This is #MyFavorite as I love the crispiness of biscuit. The milkshakes are freshly made. On your last sip you might want to order one more. This can be my new cheat meal. It is #MustTry milkshakes and worth the price.

Lotus Milkshake

We started our meal with Feng Shui Salad, mixture of chicken with light peanut dressing. The taste of each ingredient was completely different from others but yet made very nice combination of everything. It will fulfill your taste buds as well as hunger.

Feng Shui Salad

Sandwiches is their main category which you can't miss. In sandwiches we ordered Chickita Sandwich and Chicken 88, both tasted fantastic. Chicken in both the sandwiches are slow cooked for 12 hours and both are served in potato bread. Chickita sandwich had roasted chicken with sweet corn, soya, mozzarella, lettuce and pickles. Chicken 88 had smoked chicken, avocado, tomato, lettuce and mayo, just the way I love it. It was delicious and perfect, both sandwiches are  #HighlyRecommended

Being a food lover and staying in Dubai for so long I really wanted to try out Emarati food. I was lucky for getting an invite from Lazfan Cafe.

Lazfan Cafe is an Emarati restaurant in town which is located in Satwa. This cafe is tucked inside the residential building but with the help of google maps it can be found out easily. It has an indoor as well as outdoor seating area. The decor of the cafe have an ancient evolution of Dubai. The colors, seashells, photos everything have its own story. The ambiance is very relaxed and cozy.

The owner of the restaurant cooks the dishes by herself and then shows it to her chefs, she says being a good chef at home it was her kids desire to see her having her own restaurant. And they are absolutely right about it. To be honest for every bite I just said "Subhan Allah", the food was delicious. Even though we were full we just wanted more.

They serve authentic Emarati food, desserts and drinks with also some other fast food like pasta, pizza, burgers and much more.

What We Tried There:

They have separate page for their signature dishes and the dishes served are the exact replica of the pictures shown in the menu. We started our meal from their signature dish Chebab. It is the Emarati style pancakes which is served with sour cream and date syrup. It was really tasty and was different from the pancakes that I have eaten till now, definitely a #MustTry dish.

Chebab

Next signature dish was Omlait, I liked the way they named it differently. It had onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes and cheddar cheese, served with Emarati bread. It felt very homely and was served hot.
Omlait

As they had lot of international options in the menu to choose from I then chose Alfredo Penne Pasta. I must say this pasta was one of the best pasta I ever ate. It was served hot, was very cheesy and juicy with chicken and other veggies. Just the way I love it. It is a #MUSTTRY pasta, just have it once and you will ask for more.

Next we called for Chicken Fellet Sandwich, stuffing is done in Emarati bread with grilled chicken and is served along with fries. It is freshly made and very fulfilling. It is enough for one person who is on the go.

Lastly for meal we called for very simple dish but can be difficult to make them crispy i.e Chicken Strips, definitely a good fast food item and served with fries.

Chicken Strips

For desserts we had Legaimat, it is sweet flour fluffy balls with date syrup and garnished with sesame seeds. Mostly you can get it during Ramadan but you can have it for entire year now. It was very light and yet very delicious.

Lastly I ordered for White Mocha Frappe which had a vanilla ice cream with coffee, blended to perfection and topped with whipped cream.

The prices are very much worthy for the quantity and the quality of food. Overall my experience was amazing and definitely a family restaurant.
